7” vinyl record, limited edition of 200. \ud In the collection of The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), Detroit.\ud \ud The film 'Dancing in the Street' shows a number of people from Detroit dancing individual along a street, whilst listening to the well-known song Dancing in the Street on headphones. The soundtrack of the film does not include the sound of the music danced to, only the sound of the people dancing, their breathing and other incidental sounds such as birds singing, insects, cars etc. Using this soundtrack Brown made two sound pieces to create a 7” vinyl record, which was pressed at the only remaining record pressing factory in Detroit, Archer Record Pressing. This record press was one of many in Detroit that produced a huge number of soul and Northern Soul records in the 1960s and 70s. \ud \ud Keywords : Dancing in the Street, Martha and the Vandellas, Detroit, Chloe Brown
