A collection of 3D prototyped research learning artefacts were exhibited at Surface Design Show 2011. The artefacts on display provided tacit evidence of the 3D concept modelling and reflective learning experiences of a final year BA (Hons) Surface Design for Fashion & Interiors student group using 3D polygon modelling software and additive prototyping technologies (3D Printing) for the first time. \ud The student authored project blog http://extraordinary-3d-materials.blogspot.co.uk/ documents each participant student’s reflective practice and was also exhibited at the show to contextualise the 3D learning artefacts and prototypes. \ud The University of Huddersfield Teaching & Learning funded project led by Andrew Taylor has pioneered new approaches to 3D digital modelling, thinking, making, learning and teaching in the Department of Fashion & Textiles through exhibiting student and academic collaborative experiences of praxis.
