Kutucu, Burcu (2010)
Publisher: Institute of Science and Technology
Types: Doctoral thesis
Subjects: Çift Duvarlı Karbon Nanotüp, Carbon Nanotube, Karbon Nanotüp, Nanoteknoloji, Nanotechnology, Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes
The main subject of this study is the definition of nanotechnology, benefits of nanotechnology, nanotechnology applications in Turkey and world and the history of nanotechnology. Also single and multi walled carbon nanotubes and Van der Waals bands are examined in this study. At first a fixed end frame loaded with a load P is studied and governing equations solved in MATHEMATICA. Secontly the same procedure is repeated for a fixed and frame loaded with moment M is studied and governing equations solved in MATHEMATICA. After all these basic studies, the main subject of the theses , carbon nanotubes are examined. A system of two different nanotubes, one inside the other is examined with the boundary conditions. Tubes characters are determined in 3 different situations. Consequently, resultant values like displacement, rotation, shearforce and moment formed on two tubes examined and evaluated.
