This paper aims for the assessment of a layer 3 path establishment method, to explore the time response added to an Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller during network events and some additional operations, measured from an SDN path methodology used as a reference. The experience learned in this experimentation is presented as an alternative to monitor the processing time that new path establishment methods can bring to an SDN environment.
