Starting from a comparison between the concepts of CLIL in GFL and language-sensitive teaching in GSL, the author is developing competency profiles for those teachers at primary level who have to design language-sensitive general social and science classes. At the centre of this paper is the question of what teacher training should be like in order to prepare them for these challenges.
