Shanmugasundaram Venkataraman (Venkat)
Venkat started his professional career as a biochemist before moving to developmental biology, biomedical imaging and database curation. It was particularly in the last role that he learnt much about the open science movement and the principles of good data management. After 15 years working in the biology domain, he decided to move full-time into research data management, open science and the FAIR principles working for the Digital Curation Centre as their lead trainer, and then joined OpenAIRE as their Training Officer in 2021.
