Two iconic sites of Madrid to host OS Fair 2023
As Spain holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from July 1st to December 31st, 2023, the Open Science Fair will be one of the main events organized under the context of the Presidency aiming to serve as the focal point for all major actors coming together and carving the future of Open Science. We eagerly anticipate welcoming the Open Science community for three days dedicated to advancing Open Science.
The 4th Open Science Fair will be hosted in two iconic venues in the heart of Madrid. The Reina Sofia Museum will serve as the venue for the first two days (September 25th-26th). Known for showcasing contemporary Spanish art in an international context, the museum houses a collection of over 20,000 works, including masterpieces by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, and Salvador Dalí. This remarkable location will serve as the center stage for engaging discussions and presentations.
On September 27th, the event will conclude at Ateneo de Madrid, a prestigious cultural institution founded in 1835. El Ateneo has been at the forefront of promoting cultural, scientific, and literary activities in Madrid. Its diverse program includes lectures, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and theatrical performances, covering disciplines such as literature, philosophy, history, art, and science. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to El Ateneo for supporting our event and hosting the final day on its historically significant premises.
OpenAIRE and FECYT are dedicated to fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and promoting the principles of Open Science. Together, we aim to create an environment that encourages dialogue, debate, and the exchange of ideas to drive progress in the field and we believe that these emblematic venues at the center of Madrid will provide the perfect stage for insightful and forward-thinking discussions.
