UGOE is one of the leading open science institutions in Germany; it host several initiatives in measuring usage statistics, reference linking, citation analysis etc. and is active in many OS-related projects.
Contribution to Open Science
The Göttingen State and University Library (UGOE) is one of the largest libraries in Germany and a leader in the development of digital libraries. It played a key role in leading the OpenAIRE projects, managing the outreach activities, the European network and helping to building the digital repository infrastructure for Europe.UGOE is one of the leading open access institutions and hosts open access initiatives in measuring usage statistics, reference linking, citation analysis etc. The library is heavily involved in digital humanities, e.g. DARIAH and primary publishing e.g. in Göttingen University Press, and connects to existing infrastructures for publishing, e.g. university presses, to Open Access publication networks such as DOAB, OAPEN, to society publishers.UGOE is very active in Open Science activities and is involved in many European projects such as EOSC Future, ON-MERRIT, COAR, RDA Europe, and FOSTER. Göttingen University supports Open Science through its policies and support measures for its practical implementation. In November 2016 a joint policy on Open Access to publications (PDF 1.9 MB) (in German language) was adopted by the University of Göttingen and the University Medical Center Göttingen. This policy updates the Open access resolution (PDF 248 KB) (in German language) from December 2005. Similarly, a joint research data policy has been in place since June 2014.UGOE also supports the implementation of Open Access. Göttingen scientists can also use the services of the Göttingen eResearch Alliance. They assist all researchers on the Göttingen Campus with eResearch related questions and data management. Göttingen State and University Library also participates in national and international projects, such as the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) and OpenAIRE.
Goals and objectives
Göttingen State and University Library (SUB) is one of the largest libraries in Germany and provides many scholarly infrastructures and digital library services. It’s membership in AMKE is an important part of the SUB’s strategy to align to European Open Science activities and to move towards a landscape where institutional solutions can be a vital part of the Open Science service offering.

In OpenAIRE Nexus, UGOE collaborates to the development and implementation of the institutional dashboard, a profile within the OpenAIRE Monitor service dedicated to monitoring institutions’ Open Access and Open Science uptake.
