Contribution to Open Science
First policy level Open Access statement was rectors decision on Green Open Access, mandate starting in the beginning of 2010. At the moment University of Helsinki has clear Principles of open science including Principles of open publishing.
Goals and objectives
Goals 2021-2023
- Identify the needs and options for leading open science and learning and prepare a proposal
- Update university’s research data policy to comply with FAIR-principles (2021)
- Enhance use of the merits of open science in researcher and research evaluation
- Consolidate the teaching of open science into the curricula of degree programs
- Update RDM support service processes

Services
Publishing services – open platforms, Helsinki University Library offers the University community various alternatives for open access publishing. We provide services and tools for the publication of both monographs and scientific journals. Editori, our platform for journal publication, can be used to practise open access publishing. The library also supports the UH research community with the publication fees.
Data support, The University of Helsinki Data Support assists researchers in the management of research data. Researchers are offered tools, services, and training regarding the management, use, access to and sharing of research data. Via Data Support researchers at the University of Helsinki can reach the data management specialists at the Helsinki University Library, IT Services, Research Affairs and Legal Affairs.
