Major developments are underway in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) ecosystem.  Key milestones, upcoming events, and new initiatives are among the latest news from EOSC, the initiative that is transforming open science in Europe, and we are very excited to share them with you!

EOSC Federation:

The EOSC EU Node is now live and ready for the scientific community to explore. Following the successful launch at the EOSC Symposium in October 2024, the EOSC Tripartite Governance has now taken a significant step forward by establishing a process to welcome the first wave of Potential Candidate EOSC Nodes. 

Already, 29 organisations are currently in discussions to become potential candidate EOSC Nodes, with these strategic dialogues set to wrap up by February 2025. These nodes will join forces with the EOSC EU Node to essentially create the foundation of the EOSC Federation.

EOSC Winter School 2025:

The EOSC Winter School 2025 has been finalised! The event is set to take place from January 20th to January 23rd, 2025 in Seville, Spain. The program will focus on ways to advance the EOSC Federation through collaborative stakeholder efforts and is structured around four key topics from the Multi-Annual Roadmap (MAR).

INFRAEOSC Projects:

A pool of 23 INFRAEOSC projects is advancing EOSC through community engagement. Review the updated slide deck showcasing stakeholder engagement activities from EOSC-related Horizon Europe projects and discover potential synergies with your work!
