Work Open, Stay Secure: First RAISE Training Modules Now On OpenPlato
We have launched the first two self-paced training modules for RAISE, the platform that helps researchers and institutions work openly and responsibly as part of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). Whether you are working with health records, cross-border collaborations, or simply looking for a more traceable way to publish your research, this training is designed for you.
Security and openness working together!
RAISE is designed to help you protect your data while contributing to Open Science.
Your data stays where it is, managed by your institution.Your analysis runs inside a secure RAISE Node.
Your outputs—datasets, code, and results—are connected, citable, and reusable.
This makes it possible to apply FAIR and Open Science practices even in domains where privacy and sensitivity matter most, such as health, climate, and the social sciences. It also helps your research align with EOSC goals and services.
What you will learn:

This training programme introduces the key ideas behind Open Science and FAIR data, and shows how RAISE helps you apply them securely in real research settings. It is designed for researchers, support staff, and institutions who want to work openly while keeping control of their data.
By the end of the programme, you will:
- Understand the role of FAIR and Open Science in modern research
- Know what RAISE is, how it works, and how it supports your specific role
- Be able to identify how RAISE fits into your research or institutional workflows
- Feel confident to begin exploring or using the platform in practice

Module 1: Open Science and FAIR, made simple
This module introduces the principles of Open Science and FAIR data in an approachable way. It explains why they matter and how they support real research workflows.
Module 2: What RAISE is and why it matters
This module explains how RAISE enables secure and privacy-aware research using trusted Nodes, persistent identifiers, and FAIR metadata. It shows how RAISE supports different roles and helps you understand where you fit.
